9 Days Kilimanjaro Climb – Rongai Route
Safari Overview
Take on the ultimate adventure with the Rongai Route, the only trail that ascends Mount Kilimanjaro from the northern side, near the Kenyan border. This remote route is less crowded and known for its dry, wind-swept landscapes and sweeping views of Kenya’s savannah.
The Rongai Route offers a unique opportunity to experience both sides of Kilimanjaro. Your descent follows the Marangu Route, providing contrasting landscapes from dry north to lush southern rainforest. This trail is ideal for trekkers looking for a quieter, scenic route with a touch of challenge.
To improve your summit success rate, we highly recommend adding an extra day for acclimatization.
Route Insights
This tour follows the 6-day climb format. If you want a higher chance of reaching Uhuru Peak and minimizing altitude sickness, consider a 7-day version by adding an extra night at Mawenzi Tarn Camp.
