8 Days Kilimanjaro Climb – Marangu Route
Overview
Begin your journey to the Roof of Africa with this 8-day Kilimanjaro climb via the Marangu Route, the only route offering cozy mountain huts instead of tents. Known as the “Coca-Cola Route,” Marangu is both budget-friendly and popular among trekkers. It follows a straightforward path to Uhuru Peak (5,895m) and returns via the same trail, making it suitable for confident and fit climbers.
Due to its direct ascent and descent, altitude gain per day is more significant, which is why we highly recommend adding an extra acclimatization day to increase your summit success rate.
Route Options
The Marangu Route is typically done in 5 days on the mountain, but an optional 6th day for acclimatization at Horombo Huts greatly improves your chances of success:
5-Day Trek: Fast-paced, recommended for fit and experienced trekkers.
6-Day Trek: Includes an extra day to acclimatize at Horombo Huts.
This itinerary outlines the 5-day trek with total program length of 8 days.
